Two arrested after suspected drugs found in toaster

Two people have been arrested after suspected Class A drugs were found hidden inside a toaster.

Police made the discovery in a house in Huyton on Wednesday (04 December), after seizing a parcel.

Officers say they uncovered what they believe to be heroin, and white powder, which is believed to be cocaine.

A 57-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug Class A (heroin).

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug Class A (heroin), possession of a Class A drug (cocaine) and possession of a controlled drug Class B (cannabis).

Both have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Carl Lynch from the County Lines investigation team, said: “Merseyside Police remains committed to removing drugs from the streets of Merseyside and we will act on any intelligence on who is selling or distributing drugs.”
