Radio City presenter Pete Price said:
"I'm devastated, I went to see him the other day and when I said goodbye, he was in fine spirits, I never thought this day would come. We've lost a legend, we've lost someone who's timing was impeccable. It's the delivery"
"This man did so much for chairity, everytime someone asked him, he was one always there. If I ever had a problem, he was the first person I ever rang"
"He was a funny man, the epitome of Liverpool, a staunch Evertonian, there's going to be a million laughs wherever he is. He was a fine actor as well, he's tremendous, it's just such a loss. I'm going to miss his wife laughing. His wife Hazel is his number one fan, he was her best friend. She is absolutely distraught about losing the love of her life"
"The last time I saw Mickey working was at the St Helens Theatre in Rita, Sue and Bob Too. He was playing with Crissy Rock – the script went out of the window, it was just belly laughs all the way through the play. Mickey will now be with his mates Jackie Hamilton and Eddie Flanagan – and there will be a million laughs"
