The Bomber's backing our calls for tougher sentences
Tony Bellew's joined Radio City's No More Knives campaign this morning - and told us anyone who carries a blade, is a coward.
The Bomber's backing our bid to get tougher sentences brought in for anyone caught carrying a knife
He's told us his friend Liam was stabbed to death when he was just 18 - and he still feel the effects today.
Tony said: "It was truly heartbreaking. To see his family go through that, his brother hasn't been the same since. "
"My brother in law is buried in the same cemetery as Liam, and every time I walk past I just think 'what a waste of a life'"
The latest figures show knife crime rose by a fifth last year.
Bellew says as a parent, it terrifies him.
He said "I've got a 12 year old son, to see some of a similar age carrying knives is very frightening"
"The sooner we get knives off the streets, the better"
