Three more arrests over shooting of teenager in Stockbridge Village

Detectives investigating the murder of 19 year-old Nyle Corrigan in Stockbridge Village in November last year have arrested three people yesterday, Tuesday 5 October.

Nyle died from a single gunshot wound to the back after being shot in Boode Croft in Stockbridge Village at around 6.30pm on Thursday 12 November 2020.

A murder investigation has been underway since his death and a number of lines of enquiry have been undertaken.

Four people have previously been arrested in connection with his death but nobody has been charged.

Yesterday a 35-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of Conspiracy to Murder and Perverting the Course of Justice

A 31-year-old woman from Huyton has also been arrested on suspicion of Perverting the Course of Justice and Assisting an Offender.

They were questioned throughout the day by detectives and have now been conditionally bailed.

Following the execution of a search warrant in the Huyton area, a 55-year-old woman from Huyton was also arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply after a quantity of illegal drugs were recovered. She has since been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Cath Haggerty, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "It is nearly 12 months since the fatal shooting of Nyle but our enquiries into what took place that night continue. We will be relentless in pursuing all lines of enquiry to bring those responsible to justice.

“We have made a number of arrests and are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry.

“I would still appeal for anyone who has not so far contacted us to get in touch.

“Information and CCTV or dashcam footage provided by the public and taxi and private hire drivers could be crucial and I would appeal directly to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam to contact us as a matter of urgency.

“There is no place in Merseyside for firearms, and anyone who stores them or uses them to cause fear, injury or worse are simply not welcome here.

“I would urge anyone who saw anything or who has any information which could help us with our enquiries to contact us urgently. You may not think that the information you have is significant but it could help us with our enquiries."
