The Giants sandal 'fished out' the docks ahead of their return to Liverpool
It's one of the first signs of their return!

A sandal is suspended above Canning Dock this morning - as one of the first signs the Royal De Luxe Giants will be heading back to Liverpool this weekend.
The sandal is made completley of leather, and is hanging above the Dock in a fishing net.
Their journey will begin officially on Friday and they will be in the city throughout the weekend.
It comes after a telegram was received by Culture Liverpool reading:
In the last emergency meeting
of the City of Liverpool
we have observed
a piece of information
of a very special kind.
It would seem that a small boat
named Neptune
has brought back a fishing net
lost on the sea
in which was imprisoned
the world's biggest sandal
Its size is the one of a sperm whale
its looks like a ladybird
caught in a butterfly net.
The beast is suspended
at Canning Dock near the ship
that brought it back.
Director of Culture Liverpool Claire McColgan says its a big surprise and encourages everyone to come down and have a look.
"It's beautiful! I think we can safely say this is the biggest sandal we have ever seen that's been brought in by this tiny boat.
"You can't miss it! It's right outside the Albert Dock swinging in the wind. It's being held up by a massive yellow crane so we can all have a good look at it."
The Giants will be returning for the third and final time from the 5th to the 7th October 2018.
