Tesco Driver Robbed At Knifepoint

Police are hunting a group of men who robbed a Tesco delivery driver at knifepoint in Thornton.

Officers were called to the Tesco Express store on Edge Lane on Tuesday just after 11.30am, to reports that men had threatened a delivery driver with a knife before stealing a large quantity of cigarettes. The men, who all had their faces covered, are believed to have left the area in a black BMW. The van driver was left shaken by his ordeal but was not injured. Police attended the scene and a search of the area had been undertaken. House-to-house enquiries are on-going in the area and CCTV is being sought. An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is on-going.
