Two teenagers charged in connection with Southport and Liverpool disorder

The total number of people now arrested for disorder in Merseyside is 139

Two teenagers have been charged with disorder, following violent disorder in Southport and Liverpool city centre.

A teenager from Wirral's been charged with violent disorder in Liverpool city centre on August 3rd, while a second 16-year-old male from Sefton was charged with violent disorder in Southport on July 30th.

He's also been charged with possession of a controlled Class B drug.

They're due to appear at Merseyside Youth Court on Tuesday November 12th.

A 40-year-old man has also been charged with violent disorder in Southport, and a racially aggravated charge. Brian Spencer of Lytham Road will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on November 20th.

The charges bring the total number of people arrested for disorder in Merseyside to 139, with 97 charged and 78 sentenced.

The combined sentence length stands at 164 years and five months in prison.

Merseyside Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.
