Two teenagers have been left injured in a robbery which saw an e-bike stolen from them in Bootle.

Emergency services were called after the boys were found close to a roundabout on Linacre Lane at around 22:15BST on Monday night (21 October).

A 17-year-old boy was left with serious head injuries, while a 19-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.

Police are continuing investigations in the area this morning and are looking at CCTV footage.

Inspector Ted Barr said: "Our initial enquiries suggest that this was a violent robbery in which an electric bike was stolen, and one of the victims is being treated for serious injuries.

"We think there will have been witnesses and are keen to speak to them as soon as possible.

"If you were in the area of Linacre Lane at around 10pm last night and saw this incident or a group of youths on bikes, please come forward and share any information, including dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage.

"A small detail could prove vital in tracking down those responsible."
