A 16 year old boy's been charged following a vicious assault in Southport
Detectives in Sefton are appealing for information following an assault in Southport yesterday, Wednesday, 15 February.
Emergency services were called to Five Bury Road, a shop at the junction of Bury Road and Matlock Road at around 4pm, when a 38-year-old man was involved in a verbal exchange with a group of youths outside of this shop, who then assaulted him.
A staff member from the shop managed to drag the victim away before the police were called. The victim was taken to hospital to by ambulance where he continues to be treated for a fractured knee.
Police say a 16 year old boy from Birkdale will appear at South Sefton Youth Courts in connection with the incident.
