Friends of a Liverpool woman who passed away from skin cancer just before Christmas have organised a ‘tanathon’ in her memory.

29-year-old Clare Daly, who worked as a beauty therapist, died from an aggressive form of melanoma just over a year after being diagnosed.

Now, just ahead of Ladies Day at Aintree, her friends are encouraging people to get a spray tan to raise money and awareness for the charity set up in Clare’s memory.

Her brother Michael McNally told us;

‘When Clare first got ill she kept saying when I get better I want to go on Radio City and tell people about how serious this disease is. She can’t do it so we’re doing it and I think if she’s listening somewhere she’d be proud’

The tanathon is taking place at Circo in Liverpool today.

You can see the fundraising page for the event here.
