Storm Eleanor's been battering Merseyside with winds of around 80 miles an hour but it looks like we've escaped the worst of the weather

Parts of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have been left without power and transport links have been hit

Several major bridges in the UK were closed this morning as a result of the weather as well.

The Mersey Ferries have been disrupted with some cancellations

In Crosby, people were told to avoid the promenade because of the big waves that were crashing alongside the coast.

A yellow warning of wind remains in place for all of England and Wales today - but the weather is expected to die down this evening.

Most of Northern Ireland and the Scottish Borders have a yellow weather warning in place until 6pm tonight after an amber warning was put in place for the early hours.
