St Helens have cruised to victory in the Challenge Cup final beating Castleford Tigers in front of 45,000 fans.

It's a reversal in fortunes for the club who haven't won the title in thirteen years

The last time they took home the cup was in 2008 when they were the victors in their match against Hull.

Tries came from Fages, Roby, Makinson and Amor and three conversion from Coote.

It is the first Challenge Cup final to be held in July since plans were announced to move the showpiece event from August in 2018.

Last year's final was delayed until October and played behind closed doors due to disruption due to the pandemic.

St Helens secured their place at Wembley by beating Hull FC 33-18 in their semi-final.

It's the first time Saints' boss Kristian Woolf has won the title with the club.

Saints' previous appearance in the final came two years ago, when they were beaten 18-4 at Wembley by Steve Price's Warrington Wolves.
