St George's Hall is being lit up the colour purple tonight - for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month.

The spectacle's been set up by the family of a woman from West Derby who died from the disease earlier this year.

Alex Gallagher who set up Lydia's Foundation in memory of her mum to support lots of charities

She said: " The George's hall lights which we also did last year is a big opportunity to spread the word and create awareness.

As a family we have created Lydias Love Foundation in memory of my mum to support lots of charities as well as PCUK which is obviously a cause close to our hearts. But we have also this year supported Alzheimers Society, Red Cross and the Bridge Community Centre, amongst others. One of the main things I want to look at for PCUK250 is increasing the referrals from GPs to Specialists. And so getting people to their GPs if they have any symptoms is a crucial part of this."
