Sixth man charged over stabbing in central Liverpool

Merseyside Police have charged a sixth man in connection with the stabbing of a 21-year-old in Liverpool city centre just after Christmas.

Jordan Kinsella, 21 from Harrogate Drive in Everton, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder, and will appear before magistrates on Monday (8th January).

Five men were initially detained by police after being involved with the stabbing, which took place in the early hours of December 27th.

The incident, which took place on the junction between Church Street and Whitechapel, saw the victim being rushed to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries to his chest.

Three other men who were involved in the incident have also been injured and also received medical attention.

Five men aged between 20 and 21 were charged with violent disorder by police, with one of the men - Cameron Quinn, aged 21, of Swanside Avenue in Huyton, also being charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.

The five appeared at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates' Court on Saturday (January 6th) in connection with the incident.
