Six Arrests After "Peaceful" Demos

Six people have been arrested in Liverpool city centre after a day of protests. Two anti-fascist groups continued to stage demos despite a far right organisation cancelling theirs. Police say there's been some traffic disruption and what they've called "minor disorder" at Lime Street, where one man was treated for facial injuries. Chief Inspector Chris Gibson said, "We worked with partners to ensure minimum disruption to businesses and residents and we'd like to thank the public for their patience while these marches were ongoing in the city. "The force recognises the right of people to demonstrate peacefully and express their views but the force will not tolerate disorder anti-social behaviour during any demonstrations in Merseyside."
