Sir Ken Dodd is in hospital with a severe chest infection

Sir Ken Dodd is "full of praise'' for NHS staff caring for him after he was taken to hospital with a severe chest infection, his spokesman has said.

The 90-year-old's spokesman said: "He's getting the best possible treatment and he's full of praise for that."

"He's in an NHS hospital and couldn't be getting better treatment.''

He added: "Ken's always very positive. At the moment he's not as well as he normally is. But I speak to (Sir Ken's wife) Anne every day and she's there giving him all the help and encouragement he needs."
