Shotgun found in Toxteth

Three weapons have been discovered by police in Toxteth.

Three weapons have been recovered from the outside of two properties in Toxteth.

At just before 8.55pm yesterday, Thursday 9 June, officers were called to the rear of a property in Cedar Grove to reports that a sawn off shotgun had been discovered in an outside bin store. The weapon has been forensically recovered.

Three hours later Merseyside Police received a separate call to reports that a further two weapons had been found in a rear yard of a neighbouring property on Cedar Grove. Both weapons are believed to be air weapons but will undergo further examination.

A 45 year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and is due to be questioned by detectives today.
