Merseyside Police are appealing for information after reports shots were fired in Tower Hill on Friday 1 October.

Officers were called to Sapphire Drive, close to The Windmill pub, just after 8.40pm.

It was reported a male on a bike was being chased by two other males, on electric bikes before the shots were heard.

The males, who were reportedly wearing dark clothing, then left the scene.

Officers remain at the scene where they are carrying out CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries, and providing reassurance to the local community.

Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we’re keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with any information.

“This is a residential area, and we know there were a number of people in and around the Windmill pub at the time of the incident.

“There will be people out there who know what happened and may have even witnessed the incident - I urge those people to tell us what you know.

“If you spotted anyone making off, please check your CCTV, dashcam or other devices and come forward.

“Thankfully there are no reports of injuries, but to fire a gun in a residential area is clearly an extremely reckless and dangerous act which could have led to tragedy in the heart of the Tower Hill community.

“So if you know anything, please tell us and we’ll take action to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
