Police investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Dingle say they've arrested two more men as part of a murder enquiry.

22-year-old Sam Rimmer died after he was shot in a street while out with a group of friends last August.

Now, police have arrested a 19-year-old man from Toxteth on suspicion of murder, and another man has been questioned on conspiracy to commit murder.

It brings the total number of arrests to 10.

Merseyside Police Detective Inspector John Holden said: “I’d urge anyone who holds information and has yet to come forward to please do so.

"Please don’t assume with the passage of time that we already have this information or make a guess as to how significant it might be.

"Our detectives will assess this and take the appropriate action.”

Both men have been released on conditional bail.
