The fire broke out shortly before 7pm on Saturday (19 March) at Parkgate, Police are treating it as arson.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to a group of teenagers who were seen in the area at around 6.20pm and may have information that could help with their investigation.
Around 500,000 square metres of marshland went up in flames, which could be see nfrom as far away as North Wales on Saturday night.
Fire crews fought the blaze for hours, and what remains is just a huge area of blackened reed beds.
