The spectacular 'River of Light' has returned to Liverpool's Waterfront.

The outdoor illuminated gallery features 11 installations, of which three nod to Eurovision after the city hosted the song contest earlier this year.

This year's theme is 'United by Light', a tribute to the United by Music strapline used when Liverpool hosted Eurovision.

The lights will be on every night between 5pm and 9pm from Friday 27 October until Sunday 5 November.

For the first time, there will be two 'quiet hour' sessions to allow those with additional sensory needs to explore the artwork when it's less crowded.

They will take place between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 29 October and Wednesday 1 November.

The installations are:

  • Elysian and Elysian Arcs
  • Nova
  • United By Music
  • Night Whisper
  • Florescentia
  • Glow
  • Emergence
  • Ukrainian Dreams
  • Lampshades Bouquet
  • Labyrinth
  • Our Beating Heart
