Liverpool's waterfront is set to become a light spectacular as the River of Light returns tonight.

Over the next 17 nights more than 200 thousand people are expected to follow a 2km trail around the city to see a dozen interactive artworks inspired by the city's relationship with music.

Claire Mcolgan is from Culture Liverpool :

"This year feels like a party and the ingnition people need. The night time economy and the memories people have of dancing together all of that and it's interactive too which we couldn't do during Covid.

"The buildings that you pass everyday and you never look at properly it suddenly gives you a new perspective on them. You'll never look at the Town Hall the same way again and it just makes us wake up".

You can catch a glimpse of some of the spectacular light and sound artworks below.
