Residents evacuated after blaze in Kirkdale
It spread to multiple properties.
A number of people have been evacuated from their homes after a fire in Kirkdale this morning.
Fire crews were called after 4am this morning to Great Mersey Street.
Six fire engines and an aerial appliance are in attendance.
Crews arrived to find the roof of a mid terrace property well alight and began to tackle the fire with hose reel jets.
The fire was affecting properties either side and residents were evacuated.
The fire has spread to multiple properties in the terrace with firefighters removing roof tiles to get to the fire.
Residents involved have all evacuated and are all safe and accounted for.
Merseyside Police are also in attendance and the incident is ongoing.
