Reports of shots fired at a van in Wirral
Police are investigating after reports that a van was shot at in Walton yesterday.
Police were called just after 2.30pm on Monday 2nd May. A 23-year-old man from Walton says he was driving down Buchanan Road in his Ford Transit van when a man in a balaclava, fired what he believes to be two shots at his van. The driver swerved and hit a wall. Crime Scene Investigators are in attendance at the scene on Buchanan Road which has been closed. The van is also being examined. It’s not known yet if shots were fired by a viable weapon. A search is ongoing to see if a gun has been fired in the area. Police are also carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area and examining CCTV footage. Anyone with information is being asked to come forward. A 23-year-old man from Walton has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a firearm.
