Radio City has been confirmed as the official radio partner for the Echo Arena Liverpool.

In a one year deal that will see Merseyside’s number one commercial radio brand support one of Liverpool’s most iconic venues across its network of stations, including main station Radio City, Radio City 2, Radio City 3 & Radio City Talk. Activity will focus on the biggest events and exclusive giveaways in a series of joint marketing and advertising campaigns.

Radio City has held a number of sell-out music events at the Echo Arena Liverpool since it opened in 2008 including Radio City Christmas Live and Radio City Summer Live featuring artists such as Olly Murs, Little Mix and Years & Years.

Tim Banfield, commercial director of Echo Arena Liverpool, said: “Radio City is Liverpool’s most vibrant and dynamic station which is going through some really exciting developments. It is at the heart of music in the city. “It is therefore a perfect fit for Echo Arena Liverpool and, having worked with the team on events, we look forward to working with them on this partnership. 2016 is shaping up to be a fantastic year with Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Rod Stewart and Elton John just some of the acts on our busy programme this year.”

Vicki Allison, Station Director at Radio City, said “Radio City is all about bringing the very best music and entertainment to the people of Liverpool, so who better to partner with than the Echo Arena who share that same goal. We’re looking forward to making sure that our listeners get the chance to experience the best live events right here in Liverpool, as we give away tickets to the best concerts and events in the city, offering the chance to see the very biggest names in the world of music and entertainment.”

The exciting news comes as Liverpool was recently announced a UNESCO City of Music. It is only the second UK city to be given the status, following Glasgow.

Liverpool is widely recognised as the world capital of pop and its latest accolade feeds the city’s ever-growing musical heritage. The Partnership deal begins with immediate effect.

Radio City Christmas Live returns to the Echo Arena Liverpool on December 17 and tickets are on sale now.
