Police at Royal Hospital after stabbing in Bootle

A man's driven himself to the Royal Hospital with serious injuries after reportedly being stabbed in Bootle.

Merseyside Police are appealing for information following an assault in Bootle today - with the victim driving himself to the Royal Hospital for treatment. At about 2.25pm emergency services were called to the Royal to a report that a 26-year-old man had been stabbed to his legs and arms. The man is now at the hospital where his condition is described as serious. It is believed unknown offenders assaulted the man in Netherton Way, Bootle. The victim then drove to the hospital. A full investigation has now been launched. CCTV opportunities are being explored and a cordon was set up outside the hospital to enable forensic examination to take place.
