Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following an assault in Liverpool City Centre.

At around 1.25am on Wednesday 24th November 2021, a disturbance occurred in St Peter’s Square in Liverpool. A man was struck in the face by another male and as a result the victim suffered a broken jaw. The victim was left very distressed and in great pain after the ordeal.

The alleged offender left the scene soon after the incident.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: “This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured, and such violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.

“This incident took place at a time where it would have been busy, so if you were in the vicinity in the early hours of Wednesday 24th November and saw anything, then please contact us.

"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the male featured in these images. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
