Police release CCTV after Anfield stabbing

Officers have released an image of a man who could assist with their investigation

Merseyside Police have released a CCTV image of a man they'd like to talk to, after a stabbing in Anfield.

At around 8.30pm on Thursday 11 November, there was a verbal altercation between two men outside The Off Licence near to the junction of Townsend Lane and Lower Breck Road.

A 46-year-old man who was in a wheelchair was stabbed in the arm.

Detective Inspector Ben Dyer said:

“This is a callous and cowardly attack to a vulnerable person.

"I am appealing to the person featured in these images, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.

“This incident took place at the junction of Townsend Lane and Lower Breck Road in the evening of Thursday 11 November, so if you were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and saw anything, then please let us know.”
