Police probe unexplained death in Birkenhead

Police are investigating the unexplained death of a man found on a trading estate in Birkenhead.

Emergency services received a report of concern for the safety of a man in Holborn Square, at about 5.30am on Sunday.

The man was later pronounced dead at the scene off Old Chester Road.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "Inquiries are ongoing to identify him and inform his next of kin. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 or @CrimestoppersUK."
