Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was robbed as she walked through Anfield.
The 51 year-old had been walking through the car park behind Anfield football stadium towards Priory Road at about 6pm on Saturday 12th December.
As she walked past a silver car, believed to be a Citroen Saxo, the male driver shouted something to her. As she leant into the car he pulled her into the vehicle by her neck and demanded money. He then emptied her pockets and drove off at speed.
The car’s registration number is believed to be KLS 9528 and was a left hand drive.
The male driver is described as white, in his 30s, with dark hair and a moustache and he spoke with a foreign accent.
The woman was not injured but was left shaken by her ordeal.
Detective Constable Samantha Jennings said:
“We would urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Priory Road on Saturday 12 December who may have seen this vehicle, someone matching the driver’s description, or anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch.
“Anyone with any information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 4065 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.”
