Police investigating firearms incident in Walton
Officers called following reports of someone carrying a gun
Merseyside Police can confirm officers are in attendance following a reported firearms incident in Rice Lane, Walton, today Wednesday 1 June.
Officers were called at 11.05am following reports of a person being in possession of a firearm.
Witnesses are being spoken to in order to establish the circumstances however it is believed there may have been vehicles involved.
Nobody has so far come forward to report they have been injured or reported damage to a vehicle or property.
A section of Rice Lane at its junction with Hornby Road has been closed to traffic and motorists are being advised to avoid the area while police carry out enquiries.
