Merseyside Police has recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £30,000 at a house in Anfield after a warrant was executed this morning (Tuesday, 13 September). Neighbourhood officers executed the warrant on Clarendon Road at about 9am after information was received from the community. Once inside the property officers carried out a full search of the house and found a large quantity of cannabis drying and and evidence cannabis had been grown at the property. Sergeant Simon Duffy said: "Officers carried out a search warrant at an address this morning following information received from the local community. This led to us finding the cannabis drying and equipment known to be used for the production of cannabis. The information we are given by our communities is integral to us keeping Merseyside safe and we have today been able to take drugs out of circulation no doubt destined for sale by criminals on the streets. "If you think someone on your street is involved in the supply of drugs then please ring us – this recovery goes to show we do take information from the public very seriously and we will act on it. "I would like to reassure the public that we will be relentless in our pursuit of offenders and of people who think they can profit from the misery of others." Anyone with information about crime in their area is asked to call the 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
