An investigation is underway after an unmarked police car was involved in a crash outside Edge Hill Police station, when responding to an emergency call

The collision occurred at around 10.40am on Tunnel Road in Liverpool.

The vehicles involved were a marked police car which was responding to an emergency call and a van.

Emergency services are all still at scene and dealing with the incident.

The entrance/exit to Edge Hill train station and both ends of Tunnel Road has been temporarily closed.
