The family of a young boy from Huyton killed in a tragic road accident say they want to see a 20mph limit around all schools - in the hope it will prevent further tragedies.

6 year old Bobby Colleran died after being hit by a van as he tried to cross the street in West Derby in October 2014.

Since then his parents have set up a campaign in his name - calling for better road safety around schools - Bobby's mum Joanne says she wants to have a 20mph 'Bobby Zone' around all schools

She said: "We thought we wanted to make a difference from day one - for that to happen, it showed me how much of a problem it is"

"Bobby's injuries were horrific and that was on a 20 mile an hour zone. People have got to realise to slow down , when you're driving too fast its harder to see what you're doing"

"You've got to be so aware, Bobby knew everything there was to know about roads, and you've got to be so careful around schools and residential areas"

Today is 'Wear Blue for Bobby Day' where people are being urged to wear Blue in Bobby's memory and raise money for the Bobby Colleran Trust
