Pedestrian seriously injured in Eastham crash

A man in his 60s was hit by a car on Bridle Road on Sunday evening

Police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car in Eastham on Sunday 27 October.

Just before 7.35pm, officers received a report of a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra car and a pedestrian on Bridle Road, near to the junction of New Chester Road in Eastham.

The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was taken to hospital with a head injury where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting with the police investigation.

Sergeant Mark Milner from Merseyside Police Roads Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the injured man and those involved in this road traffic collision.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this collision and would appeal to people who was in the area on Sunday evening who may have witnessed this collision, or has dash camera, CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident to please contact us.
