Pedestrian hit by two cars on the Wirral

An investigation's underway on this morning (Thursday 12 January), after a pedestrian was hit by two cars in Hoylake.

It happened at around 6.45pm yesterday on Market Street.

Shortly after, police cars surrounded the scene, with a white tent also put up overnight.

Merseyside police have confirmed that a female pedestrian was hit by one car, and then another, but we've not been given information about injuries or what condition any of those involved are in.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in Hoylake. We were contacted at 6.45pm tonight, Wednesday 11th January, following reports a female pedestrian was in collision with a Saab on Market Street.

"It is believed following the first collision she was then in collision with a Ford Fiesta. Both drivers stopped at the scene and paramedics were called to the scene.

"Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area. Road closures are currently in place while an investigation is carried out."
