Pandemic cure to Liverpool's homeless crisis
Many of those given emergency shelter last year still have a roof over their head today
It's been a tough 18 months for all of us but we're hearing the Coronavirus pandemic could have been the cure for Liverpool's homeless crisis.
During the first lockdown the government launched the Everyone in scheme.
With more than 37,000 people across the country put up in hotels and other emergency shelters.
But we've been told many of those previously sleeping rough in Liverpool STILL have a roof over their head today.
Michelle Langan is from the Papercup Project :
"There was a lot of people in Liverpool who have been difficult to reach so I think Everyone In has been a positive in Liverpool and numbers of have decreased which is only a good thing.
"People are either still in temporary accommodation or some have been moved into their own flats which is amazing but it's a sad and strange thing that it took the pandemic to accommodate people".
