Radio City News has been told one of the world's biggest excavtators is being drafted in to help bring down the Seaforth Tower that's yet to fully come down.

Montgomery House was one of two Tower blocks due to come down on Sunday following a controlled explosion - but only Churchill House fell down sometime afterwards.

Contractors J.Bryan Victoria had originally planned an operation which has been expected to take three hours.

Now a 67 metre machine is helping break down the building piece by piece.

Tony Tapparell is the CEO of Technical Demolition Services Limited.

He said

"It is the only machine availible in the UK today able to bring it down, so it left us to come down from Glasgow to help out here."

"This tower block's been pre weakened three times, and it's still stood up, so we're going to a building that's failed to come down three times, so it's going to be a tough job to try and bring it down safely"

The work which started on Sunday has forced people living around the block of flats out of their homes while the work is ongoing.

We contacted One Vision Housing for an update - but so far they have yet to reply.

Two days ago they said;

"Residents affected by the exclusion zone will be notified as and when they can return to their homes."

"Our staff are working closely with residents to keep them informed of all developments, and ensure they are as comfortable as possible with accommodation, food, drink and other provisions."
