New jury sworn in for Sam Cook murder trial
A new jury has been sworn in for the Sam Cook murder trial after two jurors were discharged.
Judge Clement Goldstone QC told the jury of the decision this morning, saying if it was much later in the trial, he would have continued with 10, but as they had heard just the opening, it would be better to continue as a new group of 12.
Carl Madigan, 22, from Garston is accused of the murder of Sam from Crosby. He died after he was stabbed to death at Empire Bar last October while he was out celebrating his 21st birthday.
Madigan denies murder but has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
The trial continues.
