Murder arrest after death of woman in Walton Village

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman at a house in Walton Village.

Paramedics called police to St. Mary's Grove early on Monday morning (18 November), where the woman, in her 30s, was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Merseyside Police said the woman's death was being treated as "unexplained" and their investigation is still in its early stages.

Specialist officers are supporting her family.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy McCourt said: "This are the early stages of our investigation and we are looking to establish the circumstances into what we are treating as an unexplained death at the current time.

“The victim's family are being supported by specialist officers as these enquiries continue.
