Murder arrest after man found dead in Huyton home

A 46-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Huyton.

At around 12.15pm yesterday, Saturday 27 April, we received a report that a man had been found inside a home on York Road.

Emergency services attended but the man, aged 41, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is underway and following initial inquiries we have arrested a 46-year-old man from Huyton on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.

The man’s next of kin are aware and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers remain at the scene on York Road and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are in the process of being carried out.

There are also high visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Nuttall said: “Our thoughts and condolences are very much with the man’s family and friends at this very sad time.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what has taken place.

“This is clearly a very shocking incident and I want to reassure the community that we are doing everything we can to get answers.

“Although an arrest has been made, we are still investigating this tragic incident and I would appeal for anyone with information to please get in touch.

“If you live in the York Road area of Huyton and have witnessed anything suspicious, please let us know. Please also check your CCTV or dashcam footage to see if you captured anything, even if it appears to be minor, because it could prove hugely significant to our investigation.

“I would also encourage anyone who has any other information which they believe could assist with our investigation to get in touch as this could be vital to our enquiries.”
