Motorcyclist seriously hurt after crash in Kirkby

An investigation is underway after a crash involving a motorbike and a car in Kirkby, which left a man seriously hurt.

The collision happened at the junction of Britonside Avenue and Redhill Avenue at around 5:20pm on Thursday 17 October.

The motorcyclist, 31-year-old man, was rushed to hospital.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene, Merseyside Police confirmed.

The force is now appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell, and dash camera footage which may help with their enquiry.

Officer in charge of the investigation, Constable Gareth Milbourne, said: “This was a serious collision and we’re keen to speak to any witnesses.

“The motorcyclist was thrown some distance following the collision and suffered serious injuries.

“The incident happened at a time where there would have been numerous people around who may have seen what happened and any information no matter how small could help the investigation.

“If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident on CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage then please share this with us."
