Mo Salah will not be prosecuted over phone driving footage

Mo Salah will not be prosecuted after a video of him using his phone while driving was posted online in August.

The video showed Salah using his phone while sitting in traffic after Liverpool’s home game against West Ham as fans gathered near his car.

The club made police aware of the footage when it emerged online but yesterday, Merseyside Police said no further action will be taken.

A statement from the police read, “We can confirm a 26-year-old man was spoken to following an incident on Arkles Lane in Liverpool on Sunday August 12 2018.

Inquiries have taken place and there is insufficient evidence to support a prosecution and as such no further action will be taken. The man has been spoken to by officers and given advice and guidance around mobile phone use in a vehicle.'
