Mo Salah has made a triumphant return to Liverpool as he scored a goal against Brentford in a thrilling 4-1 clash.

The Reds travelled to the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford to take on The Bees on Saturday (February 17th) as the Premier League continued.

Salah, however, had been missing from the squad in recent weeks after he suffered a hamstring injury whilst playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations last month.

The injury meant that Salah was ruled out from play for weeks as he was told to recover as quickly as possible.

Coming off the bench during the game, this marked Salah's first proper match following his injury and he was keen to impress to get back onto his winning form.

Almost immediately after coming onto the pitch, Mo was in attack mode as he made a pass trying to net the ball, only for him to mistime the finish and send the ball flying away from the goal into the stands.

He then assisted Alexis Mac Allister to make a stunning pass to score the team's second goal against the home team.

But minutes after helping his teammate chip the ball into the goal, Mo was hungry to keep the success going and struck a hard ball into the net just moments later, taking them up to 3-0.

Brentford had a glimmer of hope for a comeback, after forward Ivan Toney kept up his goalscoring form to stick the ball into Liverpool's goal, taking the score to 3-1.

The final goal of the game came from Liverpool substitute Cody Gakpo, who beautifully chipped the ball into Brentford's goal in the last minutes of the game, with the score being 4-1 at the final whistle.

Reflecting on the match, manager Jürgen Klopp said he was "over the moon" that Salah is back to fighting form for the team.

Liverpool have no time to rest to keep their title, however, as they are next set to take on recently promoted Luton Town on Wednesday (February 21st).
