Missing teenager Jade Lynch has been found safe and well.

The 14-year-old disappeared from St Helens on Easter Sunday.

Concern had been growing for her after her social media accounts fell silent.

Earlier this week her sister made an emotional appeal for her to get in touch.

This was followed by possible sightings of her around Manchester, then late last night she was found in the Wigan area. Detective Superintendent Jon Betts said;

“I’m pleased to announce that Jade was located safe and well in the Wigan area of Greater Manchester at approximately 9.30pm today, Wednesday 6th April. “Now that we have located Jade we are currently in the process of returning her to a place of safety. We will continue to work with our partners to support Jade and her family over the coming days. “I would like to take this as an opportunity to say a huge thank you to the media and to the public for all of the information and support that you have provided, which has proved vital in our investigation to locate Jade.”
