Merseyside's new Chief Constable makes creating a more diverse Police force her top priority
It's Serena Kennedy's first week in the new role
Merseyside's new Police Chief Constable says creating a force that reflects the communities they serve is one of her top priorities.
Serena Kennedy's beginning her first week in the role after her promotion following Andy Cooke's retirement last week.
And the new Chief is making a more diverse force one of her main goals :
"We've had some challenging times over the last twelve months in terms of the Black Lives Matter protests and I'm absolutely committed to make sure that our communities have trust in us.
"I want them to think Merseyside Police will treat them fairly but also once they develop that trust they see us as an employer of choice so that we are more reflective of the communities that we are serving.
