Merseyside families whose loved ones died from Covid call on Boris Johnson to resign
The Prime Minister apologised for attending BYOB party during lockdown
As the dust settles on THAT apology, Merseyside families whose loved ones died from Covid are calling on Boris Johnson to resign.
It's after the Prime Minister admitted being at a Downing Street 'bring your own booze' party in 2020 despite it being against the rules at the time.
He's told MP's he's sorry but insists he thought the gathering in the garden of number ten was a work event.
Martin Blondel's from St Helens, it's almost a year since he lost his mum to Covid :
"We can not have a Prime Minister who will lie to the House of Commons and lie to the public.
"My mum was so full of life and she was not ready to die. Her last words to me were 'promise me Martin this will not be the last time I see you' and I said to her 'I promise', and it was, it was the last time I seen my mum.
"The parties, Dominic Cummings, Matt Hancock having an affair while we were obeying the rules, it just twists the knife even more.
"I can not put my mum to rest until justice has been served and the Tory Government all be accountable for her death and the death of 173,000 people".
