It also comes after the deadline last week for care home workers to be vaccinated against Covid.

Rob Wheatley's area director at HC1 which have care homes in places like Wallasey, Kirkby and Prescot.

He's been telling us why this year is a particularly difficult one for them :

"I cannot admit residents into our homes if we are unable to meet their needs.

"My absolute driving priority is to allow our residents to live their best lives they can live and to do that I need staff to support so if I can't recruit then I can't admit and that means problems for those who do want to come into our care homes".
