Merseyside's beaches gearing up for busiest Summer in years

With thousands set to swap Corfu for Crosby this year, people are being urged to make Merseyside's coastline a place everyone can enjoy.

With the school holidays in full swing, and uncertainty over foreign travel, our local beach teams are gearing up for their busiest Summer in years.

But that's lead to concerns over things like litter, damage to local wildlife and bbq's which are banned along the coast.

John Dempsey is from Green Sefton :

"It's a site of significant scientific interest and has some of the most important nature reserves in the country so we ask people to take their litter home, barbeques are not allowed on the coast, it's a very dry habitat.

"It's very exciting to visit the beach and have a great time and we want people to do that but remember to treat the site with respect".
