Merseyside Police have charged two men following a shooting in Birkenhead in November 2019.

At 4.10pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019, emergency services were called to the junction of Balls Road East and Borough Road to reports of shots being fired.

Following extensive forensic and CCTV enquiries, two men have now been charged in connection with the incident.

John Frederick Lewis, 21, of Home Farm Road, Woodchurch and Connor William Chapman, 21, of Woodland Road, Woodchurch have been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They have been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 7 December).

It is believed that the passenger of a motorbike fired shots, before two motorbikes were ridden off towards Prenton Park.

Officers attended and casings were found at the nearby Shell Garage, and a short time later a man was admitted to hospital with shoulder and leg injuries.
